From this e-learning, i've learnt to:
- use masks to make the transitions of the image.
- importing photoshop files into after effects and editing layers by layers
- editing the text by parenting the text to the wheel so it can rotate with the wheel.

Maskings
After Effects is a path that is used as a parameter to modify layer attributes, effects, and properties. The most common use of a mask is the modification of an alpha channel of a layer, which determines the transparency of the layer at each pixel. Another common use of a mask is as a path along which to animate text.

Hence, in this video, at the recycle part, i need to use 4 masks in order to modify the video's transitions. These 4 masks make the recycle part comes out one by one instead of coming out as a whole. I think that this transition make the whole video more interesting.

Parenting
To synchronize changes to layers by assigning one layer’s transformations to another layer, useparenting. After a layer is made a parent to another layer, the other layer is called the child layer. When you assign a parent, the transform properties of the child layer become relative to the parent layer instead of to the composition. For example, if a parent layer moves 5 pixels to the right of its starting position, then the child layer also moves 5 pixels to the right of its position. Parenting is similar to grouping; transformations made to the group are relative to the anchor point of the parent.
Parenting affects all transform properties except Opacity: Position, Scale, Rotation, and (for 3D layers) Orientation.

In this video, i've learnt to parent the text layer to the video composition, by parenting the texts to it, the text can be moved together as a whole with composition. For example, in the above video i've posted, during the bicycle part, the text came out rotating with the wheel as i've already parent them together. After parenting, we can edit their rotation and making it look as if it comes with the wheel. By doing these, i think just made the video more interesting instead boring effects like just appearing from left or right, top or bottom without any transitions.

This is my video for studio A & B for week 3. This video is kinda tough as i'm learning after effects like recently, there's alot of functions and effects that are introduced in this studio. I learn how to change from a video to a composition layer in AE. Besides, masking can make the end product of the video looks nicer. And this conclude my lesson for studio A & B.
